Jeder GPIO-Port ist bezüglich Format (analog oder digital) und Richtung (Ein- oder Ausgang) konfigurierbar. Jeder Kanal kann auch als digitär binär konfiguriert werden, um 0 oder 5 Volt bereitzustellen, oder um Spannungen zwischen 0 und 12 Volt zu empfangen oder zu senden.
